West 2-E holds art classes every Wednesday after school with teacher/boss Kano Yoshitaka! It’s fun!! The girls are too cute and seem to be learning/playing a lot! I wish I could take the class too!

Until we meet again!! Today is my last day at the gallery! I’m sad to say it is almost over. During the past three months I’ve learned so much from everyone here. The gallery is a really nice environment to work in and the people really make it even better. There is so much to see and the exhibits are always changing. I don’t want to leave Design Festa, but it will forever be a part of my Japan experience and I will treasure it always!
Thank you for everything!!
“Shizenkaiki F/W 2008” is Renature’s new line of clothes! It seems like a skate-Rastafarian brand and record label. The clothes seems really cool and the t-shirts are especially soft. Some of the jackets are a little warm for the temperature here in Tokyo during rainy season, but if you want to stock up its perfect! While you browse their selection you can also enjoy some live art!! Pretty cool stuff! If you go to their website you can download a free cd and check out their clothes before you stop by Design Festa West 2-A. They are here until Thursday the 10th!
Namin has left Design Festa behind for her homeland in Korea. She left on a jet plane on Monday and doesn’t know when she will be back in Japan again. Alas, what will the gallery do without her? We have a little bit of her and her pictures left, it will just need to do until she returns.
Happis make me happy!! They are soo very colorful and different from the traditional white!! I’d find a festibal, which isn’t that hard this summer, just to wear one to if i had ¥5,000 to spend. Made by various artists maybe you’ll spot one working around the gallery!!
There is a big nose in East. It is currently receiving rhinoplasty as well as a facelift. It will require regular maintenance shots of Botox, but its worth it to keep the vibrant vigor and spring in its canvas. Please come by and show your support during its recovery and if interested discuss similar procedures its siblings went through.
Is an exhibit of Painting, Illustration, Photography in West 1-A from this past Jul.6(Sun) to this Jul.12(Sat). The exhibit is a combined effort of Misuki Tsuruma (morino-kakurega@lt.sunnyday.jp) and Nagao Emi (tefutefu@parkcity.ne.jp). Emi has a collection of photographs. I dont know how she got so many gold fish together in one tank!! Misuki has really cute postcards (¥100) and other handicrafts for sale, I desperately want the bag covered with tasty looking cakes. This exhibit is here for a while so check, check it out now!
Are back again!! Teddy Bear Workshop!! Whoo!! Today only in West 1B. They have had workshops in Ebisu too! I am not sure what DINPLE is, but all the ladies here are really nice and helpful! Come and make a French bear or a panda in honor of the Olympics. I bought a kit for my host mother to make. Now the one I made 2 months ago will have a friend at home! Everyone needs a friend, especially teddy bears with red berets. You can purchase other bear related products like buttons or frilly bags as well. If you want to make a bear too this is your chance! Grab life by the horns and ride off into the sunset with a French bear.
