Sayonara Everyone!!! and a toast to you guys.
December 19th, 2007
So today is my last day at Design Festa and im pretty sad about it. I made a lot of friends here and I will miss them all. I came to Japan to do one thing. I wanted to see crazy Japanese art. I have been reading about the stuff that goes on in places like Design Festa and wishing for a long time to see it. Thanks to you all I got a chance to see more than I thought possible. The Event that everyone was a part of was amazing and I was glad to to it. The things that I will miss besides the people and the art are the awkward interviews with people that cant understand my terrible Japanese, and washing the windows in the morning. Im sorry for the people that have to take those jobs instead of me. Everyone enjoy yourselves have a drink and ill be back for another design festa event hopefully before DF vol 35 … Tabun.

Hiroshi Shirakabe
“KuichiraZakura”
Object, Illustration, Photography and Performance
Well im not sure what to really make of this one. Its all word art and its all in Japanese….but the guy working there is really nice and his work is really creative. There is one that invovles shining a flashlight into a small box. most of it is free to touch except for the ball of tacs which says dont touch (in english). The show is definitly worth checking out though. His collages are really cool.

Sunshine and Lions in Japan Winter Time
December 19th, 2007
Dec.18(Tue)-Dec.24(Mon) [ WEST:1-F ]
“Machiuke 8nin vol.1″
Group: Painting and Illustration
This group has a great variety of illustrative talent. While there is some anime and manga style art there are also other styles. Im a big fan of this sick rock and roll lion they have there. First of all its all pink, and second its a fucking rock and roll lion with a devil mic and a huge mane. Its really dope and so is this show.

Plain Clothes? No !! They’re Toys! SWEET!
December 12th, 2007
Dec.10(Mon)-Dec.16(Sun) [ WEST:1-A ]
China
“Put on toy”
Fashion
For Design Festa Planet Fashion Week, one of our good friends, China, has come up with a really interesting concept. Clothes that can be worn any way you want to. Unlike normal shirts that you either wear or you don’t, these shirts can be worn in many different ways because of the extra buttons and flaps and holes and sleeves. They are really cool and you never have to worry about someone wearing the same shirt as you. They are available to play with only until the 16th so come and bring your kids.

RENATURE
“Shi-Zen-Kai-Ki 2008 Spring & Summer”
Fashion
Yeah so I went into this gallery show and started poking around so that I could right a blog entry for this site. I mumbled some of my bad Japanese and didnt communicate very well. Since it didnt work I just started looking around.
Now I have had the same backpack since middleschool. Its tattered, it is one of those old one strap backpacks and all of the zippers are broken. So when I saw this great messenger bag I went up to one of the people running the show and asked how much. Yeah evedently its not for sale yet. so dont ask. Just think of it as a look into the future, not a step into it. Very cool stuff.

Adorible Concept Art
November 14th, 2007
Nov.14(Wed)-Nov.16(Fri) [ WEST:1-C ]
KK
“Kuuki Kansen”
Group: Painting and Illustration
In 1C there is a group of very talented women creating amazing things with both digital techniques as well as pencil and paint. The show just went up today. Some of the stuff is being sold on postcards and im definitley buying some. They are kind of like concept art for a video game that I wish really existed. Other art includes this amazingly complicated pencil drawing of a tree crossed with string. there some other great paintings there as well. Cool style and watercolors.

Go to Design Festa Vol.26
November 7th, 2007
So everyone should already have tickets to the big event by now but if your a slacker like me then you can still buy them at the door for 1000¥. so no big deal. You and everyone of your friends and family should show up to see the even. Especially my booth. I would show you pictures of my work but I dont have any. By any i mean work. yeah i got to get on that. what i have so far are some great blank canvases and some soft acrylic paint which i thought was normal acrylic paint when i bought it. I also still need to get some walls. but when i do they will be sweet. my booth is 238 right near all the food. im not on the program page but here is a link for all my fellow (and more responcible) artists. http://www.designfesta.com/02_en/00_df_e/vol26/artist/
