Monthly Report for May has been posted!
Various types of exhibitions for you to browse including an entire gallery WEST project, the 20th anniversary of an annual exhibition group, a new release campaign from an Osaka fashion company, an Asian children's photography travelogue, and coverage of a teddy bear workshop etc... We are going to have 7,000 artists of various genres from 28 countries around the world such as America, Europe, Asia and also from all 47 prefectures in Japan. More than 150 people from Korea will be coming as exhibitors and altogether there will be 60 children doing live painting too!

A Korean artist who discoverd Design Festa Gallery in a guide book, an aritist from Mississippi USA who had attractive installation using cute colours and materials, an exhibition that returns evey year, artists introduced the gallery by their boss, an artist who had a private exhibition for the first time ...sthat was throb during exhibition, an artist returning to the gallery after 2 years..... many artists gathered with various connections in April.
Many people expanded their new networks and discoveries this month.

[DESIGN FESTA PLANET.04] saw the space filled with original Happi pieces made by approx. 50 artists and other exciting exhibitions themed upon "Wa" in EAST & WEST gallery!
We also had a Nagauta & Shamisen performance, New Years tea ceremony, public recording performance, installation by Korean artists, live paintings and more, brilliant New Year days!

[ Design Festa PLANET.04 ]
Design Festa Gallery WEST & EAST never fail to surprise with their ever changing original artwork!
New Years ART! Design Festa Style!!
Jan.10th(Thu) - 16th(Wed), 2008
Next New Year, we will hold a new gallery project about Wa (Japanese sense of harmony and peace).
Let's expand our horizons with harmony as the theme!
Now we are looking for artists in the following types of genre, Japanese painting, objet, calligraphy, flower arrangement, film screening installation in our Japanese style tatami mat spaces!
Also we welcome all types of Japanese culture including Gagaku (Japanese traditional music) and Kinomo fashion shows, or why not take over the running of our cafe/bar on a short-term basis.
Join us as we also develop in new directions and styles at Design Festa Gallery WEST's 12 spaces and our recently opened gallery EAST's 10 spaces.
This new year will also see the start of an exciting new project "Happy HAPPI New Year" which will occupy spaces in Design Festa Gallery.
The challenge to this project will be to create a "one of a kind", "uniquely yours" original HAPPI! (traditional Japanese festival coat), by purchasing a plain HAPPI for just \15,000, exhibitors will be able to exhibit their finished HAPPI design for one week as part of this 2 gallery project!
